About the Author: Martha Freeman

Martha Freeman was born in Southern California in 1956 It is not actually true that pterodactyls ruled the skies then, but her three children believe this.Martha graduated from Glenoaks Elementary, Woodrow Wilson Junior High, and Glendale High School Until Martha came along, Glendale High s most famous graduate was a fellow named Marion Michael Morrison He later went into the film game and changed his name to John Wayne, which you might very well do, too, if you were a boy named Marion in unenlightened times In 1978, Martha graduated from Stanford University with a degree in history She remains Stanford s most illustrious graduate if not its most wealthy.Stink Bomb MomMartha s First Book.Martha worked as a newspaper reporter, copy editor, substitute teacher, college lecturer, advertising copywriter, and freelance magazine writer before she found her true calling as a writer of children s books in 1994 Her first book was Stink Bomb Mom, now, tragically, out of print She has since published 14books for children and as you read this, she is probably working on another one Besides writing and visiting schools to talk to students, Martha teaches occasional classes at Penn State University, volunteers as an emergency medical technician, and works for a wonderful little company called Wall Street Communications She is a very busy person.

    Fun mystery tale that is part of First Kids Mystery Series Two girls live in the White House with their mother who is the president of the United States In this book, Tessa, thinks she has found the perfect place to hide her piggy bank It disappears and she thinks it has been stolen Can there really be a thief in the White House The girls have their dog, Hooligan help in the search and this leads to some very funny situations This text is best read to first and second graders as the story Fun mystery tale that is part of First Kids Mystery Series Two girls live in the White House with their mother who is the president of the United States In this book, Tessa, thinks she has found the perfect place to hide her piggy bank It disappears and she thinks it has been stolen Can there really be a thief in the White House The girls have their dog, Hooligan help in the search and this leads to some very funny situations This text is best read to first and second graders as the story would appeal to them but the font is somewhat small and might be difficult for most to read on their own Third and fourth graders would have fun reading on their own.Good, simple, and entertaining way to introduce mystery genre to younger readers It is also a good look at savings for students who are young

    Genre MysteryGrade Level Intermediate I chose this book as one of my favorites because it had the ability to make you feel as if you were really there as well making you imagine what it would be like to be in the characters shoes This book was all about the children of the President of the United States The children were on a mission to find the missing piggy bank that Tessa had hidden for safe keeping This is all about their adventures to finding the piggy bank I would use this book withi Genre MysteryGrade Level Intermediate I chose this book as one of my favorites because it had the ability to make you feel as if you were really there as well making you imagine what it would be like to be in the characters shoes This book was all about the children of the President of the United States The children were on a mission to find the missing piggy bank that Tessa had hidden for safe keeping This is all about their adventures to finding the piggy bank I would use this book within my classroom to have the students use the strategy of predicting There are many places in the book for students to predict different things
