With that smoking cover and the book blurb I was so hoping for some steamy, sassy between the Italian stallion and the feisty local But, sadly, this was just off the mark for me Charlie is not smart, not engaging and just not my kind of girl She is cold and seems a lotinterested in getting drunk and messing around with her ex than she does building a life for herself I didn t find her to be involved with her sister, who lives with her and is expecting nor was she very influential with With that smoking cover and the book blurb I was so hoping for some steamy, sassy between the Italian stallion and the feisty local But, sadly, this was just off the mark for me Charlie is not smart, not engaging and just not my kind of girl She is cold and seems a lotinterested in getting drunk and messing around with her ex than she does building a life for herself I didn t find her to be involved with her sister, who lives with her and is expecting nor was she very influential with trying to build her family back up and mend her relationship with her father who don t even get me started.Joel Graziano is described as I would have expected tall, big, muscled and tatted But he just was not on the mark for me as the Italian stallion He did not have the dominance and arrogance that I love in my Italian men In fact, he seemed much happier to accept the shite that Charlie gave him maybe prison broke himthan I thought Together these two were lack luster The smexy times were awkward to quote my GR friend AWKWARD But they just seemed to be not intimate, if that makes sense They were both getting off Period Which may have been fine in the insta love first time or even second time, but after like Thanksgiving with the family or Christmas gift exchange should it turn into making love said in the deep Barry White voice I read it all I felt this odd need to finish it to see if these two redeemed themselves they did and they didn t Just me, but I was a 2 Star through the whole book Enjoy

This is a new author to me and wasn t sure about the premise but I loved it I was drawn into the characters immediately quickly absorbed into their world.I liked that they were relatable It s easy to see friends or family in any of the scenarios the characters were in.Joel and Charlie were hitting the sheets pretty earlier on They knew how to work each other into a frenzy I liked how Charlie was the aggressor She wasn t afraid to show her sexual side I liked that they were lovers first slow This is a new author to me and wasn t sure about the premise but I loved it I was drawn into the characters immediately quickly absorbed into their world.I liked that they were relatable It s easy to see friends or family in any of the scenarios the characters were in.Joel and Charlie were hitting the sheets pretty earlier on They knew how to work each other into a frenzy I liked how Charlie was the aggressor She wasn t afraid to show her sexual side I liked that they were lovers first slowly building their friendship.I thought her sister and Danny were cute and dealing with so much but handling this so well.Often times I thought Charlie and Joel acted a bit younger than their age I don t think they were as mature as their age. This would have been a 5 star read for me but I felt that the story needed an additional chapter At least an epilogue I felt there were a few unanswered storylines that I would have liked closure on.I was given a copy of this book through NetGalley for an honest review

Wow I m surprised this one isn t rated much higher I really enjoyed it.I guess it hassubtext than a lot of romance Like, I had to work a bit to figure out why the characters were acting like they were But I like that in a book, and these characters made a lotsense to me than a lot of others. And I like it that the hero isn t an over the top alpha asshole He listens to the heroine and tries to do what she wants Wow, what a weenie Or, alternatively, what a good guy.Anyway, I rea Wow I m surprised this one isn t rated much higher I really enjoyed it.I guess it hassubtext than a lot of romance Like, I had to work a bit to figure out why the characters were acting like they were But I like that in a book, and these characters made a lotsense to me than a lot of others. And I like it that the hero isn t an over the top alpha asshole He listens to the heroine and tries to do what she wants Wow, what a weenie Or, alternatively, what a good guy.Anyway, I really liked it Flawed MCs, setting that shows the pros and cons of small town life, sex that s sometimes messy but still hot, three dimensional secondary characters including a non evil ex what s not to like I ve already bought another book by the same author I m looking forward to seeing what she s up to

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here I was a little disappointed with this book After reading the synopsis I thought this book would be a must read for me The characters didn t seem to actually want to be together The way Charlie was with Joel really annoyed me there is only so much back and forth I can take and she took it too far I did really like Joy and felt for her being pregnant at that age and her father throwing her out was heartbreaking, I m glad they managed to sort things out The book also ended quite suddenly for m I was a little disappointed with this book After reading the synopsis I thought this book would be a must read for me The characters didn t seem to actually want to be together The way Charlie was with Joel really annoyed me there is only so much back and forth I can take and she took it too far I did really like Joy and felt for her being pregnant at that age and her father throwing her out was heartbreaking, I m glad they managed to sort things out The book also ended quite suddenly for me I would have liked to know if they stayed together and moved to the city and if Joel stayed away from a life of crime. The story was really thought out it had the potential to be an amazing story I just think the characters weren t right for each other
