Interesting story that kept me puzzling about how an innocent thing like a walk with a dog could cause so many issues Obviously things like this happen all the time, someone runs late and sees something they wouldn t normally see, possibly resulting in good or bad consequences. That was the case in this book and I very much enjoyed the history of the primary characters, which drew me in right away I felt so much for each of the characters and it varied, depending upon which part of the story I Interesting story that kept me puzzling about how an innocent thing like a walk with a dog could cause so many issues Obviously things like this happen all the time, someone runs late and sees something they wouldn t normally see, possibly resulting in good or bad consequences. That was the case in this book and I very much enjoyed the history of the primary characters, which drew me in right away I felt so much for each of the characters and it varied, depending upon which part of the story I was reading It s interesting how each person remembered the same incidents, but based on their viewpoints, remembered them differently. This was a fascinating novel that kept me reading, wondering how everything was going to turn out for the 3 people remaining of the original 2 couples.Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for letting me read this great book in exchange for my honest review

Alternating narrators, Ella and Kevin, tell the story of their lives from childhood to adults Kevin is Ella s dead husband cousin Both have some issues in their lives Written in a clear, concise manner with two characters that you want to know.

Friend dramaI liked this book because it kept my attention throughout the story Friends Ella and Beth kept a secret that concerned Beth s marriage Ella was put in the middle and didn t know what to do because Kevin, Beth s husband, was also her good friend After everything was revealed, there were still some unanswered questions amongst two of the friends I really liked how the book started with Naked Man

I enjoyed this story of a 43 year old widow and empty nester in Canada She is still grieving Aaron s death and transitioning to being on her own Regret, guilt, and dealing with memories gives a layer to the story Her loss is not pushed to the side, but a factor in the story She inadvertently comes across a house that Naked Man is renting, and that discovery leads to the unraveling of a relationship The story has Ella s and Kevin s POV Kevin was in love with Ella years before and a friend I enjoyed this story of a 43 year old widow and empty nester in Canada She is still grieving Aaron s death and transitioning to being on her own Regret, guilt, and dealing with memories gives a layer to the story Her loss is not pushed to the side, but a factor in the story She inadvertently comes across a house that Naked Man is renting, and that discovery leads to the unraveling of a relationship The story has Ella s and Kevin s POV Kevin was in love with Ella years before and a friend of Aaron Having both sides gives insight into how what happened years ago resulted in her marriage. It s about the past, the present, friendships, and the one who got away I was absorbed around the middle story as secrets were revealed A seemingly innocent event became central and potentially damaging Ella was caught in a dilemma. The writing was solid A fair bit of Kevin s story was backstory, that was a bit slow for me However, it was helpful to get his perspective and find out what Ella didn t know about Aaron, her late husband While this had romance in it, it felt less like a romance novel andlike women s fiction The author showed how so many people were affected by decisions that were made and were played out years later One person s action accelerated another person s And there was fallout But even in the aftermath, it seemed as if everything was now where it should have been all along. This was a satisfying read for me I like to read about mature characters who havecomplex stories and relationships This delved into grief and even uncovering uncomfortable feelings and making peace about the past And maybe even just getting things right for the first time Excerpt Galileo is using the gravity assist technique to reach Jupiter, I said It does a flyby of a planet with each flyby, the gravitational pull of the planet alters the spacecraft s flight path and increases its velocity enough to deliver it to the next planet, Aaron said Note I received a copy from NetGalley for review This is my honest opinion

Sometimes, when a book is written fromthan one person s perspective, it can be frustrating to the reader That was not the case here I liked how the relationships were complex and actually hoped that maybe, at the end of the book, we might get a glimpse of one additional character s perspective.
